Guerrilla Marketing’s Golden Rule #11
The more know-how you have about the overall marketing
process, the more profits you will earn. |
Sources of Marketing Know-how
The antidote to being intimidated by marketing is to
get more marketing information on a continuous
basis. Knowledge is the power that fuels marketing.
Know-how is a major competitive advantage.
There are two primary ways to get more information:
The first is to collect it from your customers and from
measuring the results of your marketing . The second
is to read about marketing and attend workshops.
For example, I am currently reading two different
e-books about marketing. As a result of ordering
one of those I received a free teleclass
by Robert Middleton and learned about something
he calls "Marketing Syntax", the order of your
ideas in your marketing messages:
1. your target market and their problem
2.
ultimate outcome
3.
benefits & value
4.
proof (that you have provided the outcome,
associated benefits and value to others)
5.
call to action (the offer)
Another way I collect information about marketing
is to read while at the bookstore and check books
out of the public library. Email me if you would like
me to send you a recommended reading list.
Reading good marketing books and materials
can provide valuable insights and spark your
imagination and creativity. The price is right.
Marketing is too important to your business to be
practiced in the dark.
That's why the rule is to gain the most possible
know-how -- and never stop adding to it.
