Guerrilla Marketing’s Golden Rule #14
It is easier to achieve a healthy share of market if you first obtain a healthy share of mind. |
Share of Mind
If your company is aiming at share of market, you
are aiming at a tough-to-hit target. The best way to
gain a share of market is to first aim at getting a
share of mind.
That means prospects not only think of your
company, but they think of it first when about
to purchase what you sell.
Levinson says that you get that share of mind by
1) using guerrilla marketing and 2) consistent marketing
efforts directed at your target audience. That is, you
get top-of-mind awareness with committment
to a marketing plan and comprehension of the
power of repetition
Golden Rule #1 discusses the importance of commitment
to a plan. It is worth repeating that you have to have a
plan to commit to. Once you have a plan, and you are
exercising commitment,
you need to comprehend the
power of repetition.
If you can provide enough repetition of your product
or service name, identity, and overall value, you
will
eventually secure a healthy share of mind.
You provide repetition through your carefully selected
marketing strategies, especially your relationship-
buiding with customers. Absolute clarity is essential
if you want to get a cohesive identity.
Be sure all your materials say the same thing.
Shoot a consistent message at the right target.
Levinson provides Nine Landmarks to guide
